As of today, we are 26 weeks and 2 days pregnant...only 96 days to go....or 14 weeks....regardless of how you count it, though, it's not much time left at all!
Everything is going well....I'm measuring right on target, my BP is good, weight gain is fair (as in maybe gaining too much), my iron level is great, and baby's heartrate is around 150-160bpm.On Monday we had our 'big' ultrasound...and I managed to keep my word and tell the U/S tech that we were not interested in finding out the gender and to please tell me when she would be taking the abdomen and femur measurements so I could turn my head. Baby M#3 is still laying horizontal with its feet near his head. According to BabyCenter, he weighs about 1.75 lbs and is 14 in. head to heel.

and from the INSIDE....
In 2 weeks, I go in for the oh.so.loved glucose screening and the following week, I have my very first appointment with the Nurse Midwife. I've hesitated in switching my provider to the CNM mainly because I've loved my epidurals too much and I really don't think I can endure 12+ hours of labor with no medical intervention (I'm too much of a pain wuss). But after sitting hour after hour to see my OB and then to just feel like a chart, I'm more than willing to try a different perspective to labor and delivery. Please pray that it goes well.

I'm ok with feeling like a chart if it means I don't have to endure the pain of childbirth. I guess I'm a wus also.
Looking good. I predict girl. (then again, what do I know.)
What a sweet belly pic! glad all is right on track. ;0
Glad to hear it's going well so far! I did one birth with epidural and one without and they both still hurt, so you'll be just fine! I'd prefer the personal attention too, I think. It works a little different up here in Canada and the second birth (the one without the benefit of good pain meds) was in a small-town hospital. I was the only one giving birth that night and I had two wonderful nurses with me the whole time.
I'm sure it will all go well
You'll be delivering in a hospital, right? I'm sure you'll still have access to the epi in a hospital!
It's going by super fast! I'm dying to know if it's a boy or girl?!?! Do you have any feelings one way or the other??
The bump and "hump" comment both made me smile today! Have a good day friend!
Jesse,
I found you over at Lives of Doctors Wives and I'm glad to have found your blog too!! I think it's very cool that you're waiting to find out the sex of the baby. What a great surprise!! Anyway, I look forward to reading along from here on out :)
LOOK AT YOU!!!!!! I can't believe how quickly it's going! You look soooo cute!
I'm so glad everything is going well, my blessings for a very healthy (and pain free!) pregnancy and delivery! I will keep you in my thoughts!
Awesome - it is flying by, for me at least!
And I'm proud of you for making the switch. It's one thing I wish I had done in my pregnancy with Alex. I really think I wouldn't have ended up with a c-section (loved my OB, but she wasn't on call to deliver me, and that made all the difference).
If you're worried about no epidural, I'm sure you CAN do it, and there are a lot of good resources out there. I recommend Hypnobirthing (book) and my doula friend Amy's blog: www.doulamomma.wordpress.com. Amy lives in Korea, but if you can find a doula where you live, I highly recommend one! :-)
You are brave to not have an epidural. They could let me give birth all alone as long as they have me hooked up to the happy juice!
Good luck with the glucose test...that may be my least favorite thing ever!
So glad all is going well!
I had a CNM with Mia and loved, loved, loved it! Of course it was at Montgomery, the best I have been taken care of by far, no dig intended. I still had an epidural so I am sure, since you will be at a hospital, you should be able to get one too. After three kids I am a bit tired of "following" hospital "rules" about MY labor and MY delivery. ARRrG
