This week was pretty uneventful....taking care of a Flu-ridden husband and snotty-nosed and refuse-to-get-a-full-night's-sleep children, and dealing with a virus myself, which made me feel like I got hit square in the face by a MACK truck. Needless to say, with the exception of last night, I hadn't been to the beloved gym in a week. So it's no surprise that I gained back one pound. Grrr. I also didn't get in my "required" water either.
I've had a heck of a time dusting myself off and getting "back on the horse". I don't know why because I always feel better when I'm consistently working out. Why must it be so easy to get back in the "rut" after weeks of working hard and doing so well? That question has always frustrated me. I really want to lose 5 pounds during this challenge, so that means that I must find my lost motivation and get moving....and fast, since I only have 3 more weigh-ins. I just need a serious push to get started. As Newton (and my friend, Christie) discovered....an object in motion, stays in motion (unless acted upon by an unbalanced force). Definitely easier said than done, especially when it's so easy for the couch to absorb the energy (and act as that unbalance force). Ha!
Here's to a much better week, a much better attitude, resulting in a much better weigh-in next Wednesday!

I'm right there with ya on the falling back into bad habits so easily. urgh!
Don't be too hard on yourself. You had a really big week of being Mommy.
I will be doing some fasting myself in the next three weeks. Not just for weight-loss though. A while back, I decided I wanted to start each week with a 24-hr fast ~ a time of reflecting on where I maybe went wrong the previous week, repenting of the times it was willfully, looking ahead to the new week, petitioning for guidance and fresh encouragement and motivation... that kind of thing.
It really is amazing how different that can make the weeks go, but so far, I haven't really made it a habit yet. But now with a little bit of panic setting in as the challenge is half over, it might happen on a more regular basis!!
I know exactly what you mean about having such a hard time getting back on the wagon after falling off ~ even when you KNOW you feel better riding it than sitting behind it in the ruts!! I guess that's just our ugly, selfish human natures. We prefer the paths of least resistance.
Here's to hard work and success this week!!
You can do it, you can do it, you can do it. Make small goals every week and then go for it. Maybe this week it's to drink your water and exercise XX amount of times.
I got "lucky" and had the flu yesterday so my weigh-in was great but probably won't be next week!
It is so hard to be good about diet and exercise, and so easy to blow them off. But don't let it bother you. Today starts a new week, and you can do it!
It could be worse, you know. You could've gained more! Good luck on hopping back on the horse, you can do it :)
Hope you and your family are feeling better!
